Dedicated to those who love and care for Vintage, Classic Boats in America’s Heartland

1949 Stancraft Torpedo

This Classic Boat is owned by Clay and Patty Thompson

1949 Stancraft 21′ named Geronimo is owned by Clay and Patty Thompson.

Stan Young started STANCRAFT to build boats after the war, and this torpedo style runabout was his best design. He built 10 of these from 1946 to 1954, but most of his business was building cruisers and fishing boats, so these high price runabouts did not sell well. Today, only 6 exist, and I am proud to own this one, number 3 from 1949  GERONIMO is powered by a Cadillac engine, and its pointed streamline transom gives it timeless beauty.
