The 27th Annual Mahogany & Chrome gathering was a boating rendezvous

September 11-12, 2020

     Social Distancing in Boats !

2020 – the COVID-19 Pandemic Year – meant no official show or banquet or judging.  But the urge to go boating and reconnect with friends turned into the Mahogany & Chrome Classic Rendezvous on Grand Lake O’ The Cherokees, September 11th & 12th, 2020. The event featured leisure cruises on Grand Lake, great food, and an informal vintage, retro & wooden classic boat show. All this plus plenty of like-minded boat owner enthusiasts ready to share the mahogany and chrome experience.

Masks and Social Distancing were required at all Venues.

Homeport for the event was Arrowhead Marina courtesy dock on Grand Lake, Oklahoma.

Friday’s cruising was on calm water, warm enough, and not too hot.  More friends and boats showed up for the fun.

Joe Harwood, owner of Arrowhead Marina, provided a full breakfast for all attending participants. (Just thinking of his bacon makes your mouth water.)

Saturday’s lunch destination was Bob and Linda Kanak‘s lovely lake home and boathouse.  Janson Kanak helped the serving a great lunch, a mini repeat of a Show lunch of eleven years ago.

In spite of not being publicized, many spectators showed up in the afternoon to admire the collection of floating art.
