Last year I started to refinish the transom of the 1964 Shepherd. I did the upper half in the fall and finished the lower portion from the splash rail and water line stripe last week. The transom was refinished with 7 coats of Epifanes including a re fresh of the lettering. The splash rail was sanded down using 320 grit followed by 3 new coats of varnish. The water line stripe was sanded smooth by hand but not removed. It was recoated with 3 coats of White, Wet Edge cold cure 1 part Urethane from Total Boat. Great paint.
